January 6, 2025 — Justin Trudeau’s resignation announcement today may bring some sense of relief to Canadians, but let’s be clear: Changing the leader will not solve the deep-rooted problems the Liberal Government has created.
Every Liberal MP and Leadership contender supported everything Trudeau did for 9 years. Let me be frank; the issues facing Canada go far beyond one individual. The entire Liberal Party is responsible for the chaos and dysfunction we are now enduring.
Instead of calling an election and letting Canadians decide the future direction of our country, Justin Trudeau has prorogued Parliament—shutting the House of Commons and Committees down entirely. By doing so, he has ensured there is no oversight and no accountability of the government.
While Canadians have been demanding an election, Trudeau’s actions make it clear that his only interest is a desperate self-preservation stunt aimed at keeping the Liberals in power. This stunt is not in the best interest of the country; its sole purpose is to avoid an election and desperately hold on to power.
Trudeau resigning changes nothing!
Every single Liberal MP in power today, and every leadership contender now jockeying for position, helped create this mess. They all voted for the job-killing, inflationary carbon tax. They all supported the reckless spending, the ballooning deficits, and the housing policies that have priced Canadians out of the market.
They stood by as violent crime surged, as crime rates skyrocketed, and as dangerous policies like catch-and-release bail and house arrest for repeat offenders endangered our communities.
These policies weren’t driven by Trudeau alone. Every Liberal Party MP voted for these disastrous laws, passed them into law, and enforced them. Each one is complicit in the mess Canada is now facing—and none of them are any more capable of fixing the country than the leader they are now abandoning.
Why are Liberal MPs abandoning Trudeau now, months before an election and just weeks before U.S. President-elect Donald Trump takes office, threatening massive tariffs on Canada? It’s not because they’ve had a sudden change of heart. It’s because they know they’ve failed and are hoping that dumping Trudeau will shield them from the consequences of their disastrous record.
Their only concern is that he is no longer popular enough to win an election and keep them in power.
The Liberal Party’s policies have thrown Canada into a state of crisis—dividing the country, wrecking our economy, and jeopardizing our safety. They cannot be redeemed. It’s time to send a clear message: The Liberal Party must be replaced.
We need a Common-Sense Conservative Government to turn this ship around. Only Conservatives will:
- Axe the carbon tax that punishes Canadian families and businesses.
- Build affordable homes to address the housing crisis and make homeownership a reality again.
- Restore fiscal responsibility by eliminating wasteful spending and balancing the budget.
- Crack down on crime and ensure criminals face consequences—not a free pass back onto our streets.
- Secure our borders, restore law and order, and take action on immigration policies that prioritize Canadian citizens.
Canadians deserve a government that works for them, not for itself. That’s exactly what a Common-Sense Conservative Government will do: We will restore common sense, order, and a vision of Canada where every Canadian can thrive.
It’s time to bring Canada home—to restore the promise that every Canadian, no matter their background, can work hard, pay their bills, raise a family, and live in a country that puts them first.
